The Abyssal Guard is a unit under the direct authority of the Shillien Temple. The role of the Abyssal Guard is to conduct investigations into activities deemed heretical and dangerous to the Temple and the Dark Elven peoples, protect those who properly follow the teachings of the Temple, and to act as a conduit of communication between the Dark Eleven peoples and the peoples of Aden and Elmore.
To this end, the roles and duties of the Abyssal Guard is as follows:
To investigate activities by cultists, heretics, blasphemers, criminals, traitors, and others deemed dangerous to the Shillien Temple and the Dark Elven peoples, including threats from within. To this end they are to identify individuals or organizations involved in such, their goals and motives, and their activities. If found to be guilty or worth further investigation, the Guard shall act appropriately given the situation.
Protection of those who legitimately worship Shilen, or are found not to be cultists, or heretics who are found within Human territories. Sanctuary shall be given to those who seek it, so they may be free from the Church's persecutions, and those who are in need shall be brought into the Temple so they may be educated in the faith of Shilen properly.
The Abyssal Guard shall act as a conduit for communication and mediation between the Dark Elven peoples and peoples of Aden and Elmore in political and diplomatic matters including, but not limited to, expansion of political influence, and the practice of the Dark Elven culture and faith outside of the Guild House walls free from persecution. To this end, the Guard will work very closely with the Dark Elven Guilds.
To further the goals of the Abyssal Guard, we cooperate with the Einhasad Templars, who also have interests in hunting cultist sects. Ensuring the security and protection of the Seal Keys, which are said to unlock the Seven Seals, adn that the Templars possess shall also fall under the responsibilities of the Guard. Their goal of a newly unified Elmoraden is also of interest of the Dark Elves to have a hand in...
The Abyssal Guard serves to protect the Dark Elven people and the faithful of Shilen from all threats, regardless of origin.

OOC information:
The Abyssal Guard is a moderate - Heavy roleplaying clan. We are heavily involved in plots and quests. While participation is not required, it is encouraged. As storylines can deal with very dark and mature themes and content, we would consider ourselves a mature RP clan. While there is no age restriction, members should be able to handle the darker aspects of these stories with a mature mind.
We are not a PK or griefing clan. Anyone found partaking in such activities may be dismissed from the clan immediately. This does not mean that PvP is discouraged. On the contrary, the duties and responsibilities of the Guard may very well lead into PvP situations. PvP with others in roleplaying will happen as long as proper respect is given. Our goal is to have fun, not ruin the fun for others. We are also a Neutral clan, and all members are expected to stay out of Server politics, and otherwise avoid any actions that may void our neutrality or otherwise endagner the clan.
There are no level requirements for joining the Guard. There are no class restrictions per say excepting the Necromancer, as reanimating undead is seen as a violation of the sanctity of death an walking undead an affront to Shilen. As the Guard is operated by the Shillien Temple, we are primarily a Dark Elf clan, however, it is possible for other races to join. Human's who have found the path of the Goddess and follow the ways of the Temple are welcome. Dwarves are an asset to anyone. The Children of Paagrio are respected and would make good additions to military ranks. Light Elves can be a more touchy matter - while not completely locked out, there must be *very* strong reason for them to be within the Guard.
There are no restrictions on having other characters in other clans, so long as proper respect for the difference between In Character and Out of Character information is maintained, and there are no conflicts with sharing or leaking information that the other side would and should not know.
