*Ophante was on the hill a jog to the north of Dion, which encased the marshlands. He pushed Risa's Tsu into the ground and took a few steps back, seating himself on a stone and looking at it. He still had his Sword of Revolution in his pack; he never did get around to selling it. This sword stuff. It was nothing but trouble. The fact that he was a fighter only got him in bad situations. He pursed his lips and layed his shield at his feet. He spoke to himself, beleiving nobody was listening to him* Perhaps I should just stop. Its not like I really helped anyone with this.

Tregarde had a missive to carry to Gludio. She had always enjoyed the walk and began the journey. Slowly, she was recovering from the loss of Jessala. They were recovering. Some fresh air would do her some good after spending so much time indoors. As was her habit, she took a ‘shortcut’ instead of the roads.
Lost in thought, she almost didn’t notice the figure till the sun happened to catch on his armour and a reflection caught the corner of her eye. There was something familiar about him, and she turned at approached. Soon she recognized who it was.
As she neared Tregarde said quietly, “Tay?”
( Sorry for the delay in reply. Jess’ death threw things for a loop IC and it was uncertain how things would go till certain events were played out )

(Its alright. ^^ )
*Ophante blinked at the voice and looked at Tre for a long moment. He then smiled slightly and brushed some of his bangs out of his face* Oh, hello Tre. How are you doing?

Tregarde closed her eyes, but a pair of tears slid down her cheaks. She did manage to keep her voice composed as she spoke.
"Jess is gone. The spell that gave her the new body was temporary, and she is with Shilen now."

*Tay gets up and gently embraces Tre, softly rubbing her back* I heard the rumors.. I thought they were just rumors.. untill now. *He sighs softly and shakes his head* At least she sits with Shilien now, perhaps a better place than here.

Tergarde allowed herself to be consoled for a moment then took a step back and looked at Tay and spoke weakly, “We’ll… manage. It’ll be rough for a while, but we’ll manage.”
She took a breath and regained some strength to her voice. “How are you? We’ve hardly seen you of late.”

*He shakes his head and turns to look at the sword and shield laying on the ground* The past few days, I've started to question what exactly.. what personal reason.. I have to fight. My life was turned on its head by a blade, and now I've been wielding one. Everything that's gone wrong to my life.. *He rubs the spot where Tura blooded him* ..has come at the edge of a blade.

Tregarde sighed heavily while looking at the sword in the ground. “We’re warriors. To be on the receiving end of a blade is part of the job. But… a blade is nothing more than a tool. It’s the one who wields it, and how it’s used, that matters.”

*He shakes his head and frowns* That's just it. I really didn't choose to fight, you know that Tre. So I'm starting to wonder if the battlefield is really where I belong.

Tregarde sat down on the grass with a sigh. After a moment she spoke, her eyes slightly downcast. “I don’t know what sort of training you went through. When we go through the tests to become a Palus Knight, we are taught that there is no honour, no glory, there is only death. We are bringers of death. The coffin I shall be interred in is already made, I assisted in the making of it.”
She took a breath and looked up at Ophante. “But there is honour, even if it’s only up here,” she tapped the side of her temple. “But I have no illusions about what I am. I am a bringer of death. But as often as possible I choose which battlefields I fight on. And the most important ones I choose are those where I am defending the ones I care about.”

*He nods slowly and crouches down next to Tre, staring at the blade that he thrust into the ground* That's just it, Tre. At the Villiage everyone trained me to to seek revenge. If they had their way, I would have attacked you, and Risa, and Christy-Jess... well, I guess I kinda attaked Christy anyway.. but.. you get my drift. I can't help but to feel that while I'm fighting, they still have their hooks in me, you know? Even if I'm not fighting for their cause, I'm still fighting, using their training..

Tregarde absently plucked at a blade of grass as she spoke. “It’s not where you got the training that matters, it’s what you do with it. For much of my life I was taught to not trust anyone with skin unlike this,” she held up a hand. “And yet I came to call others ‘friend’.”
She took a breath and looked at him. “In fact, you were the first one not of my race I openly called such.”

*He nods and smiles slowly at Tre* And I'm honored to have such a distinguishment. *He then takes a deep breath and shakes his head* I just don't know if it was fate who brought me to the blade, or just the concequenses of actions.

Tregarde shrugged. "Is there a difference? With all that's happened, I am certain that at least some things are meant to be."
She paused a moment before continuing. "I don't know if the way of the sword is for you or not. I do know that you have shown talent for it, even if you set standards for yourself that are hard for anyone to accomplish. We can still use you, and I would hate to see you go, but maybe what you need is a break to figure yourself out.”
She reached out and placed a hand on his arm. “But even if you do need to put away the sword for a time, that doesn’t mean you have to go. You still have a home with us.”
